I like to write. By hand. I am not very good at it. I like to do it anyway.

My handwriting is difficult to read most of the time - and illegible the rest of the time. It’s not because I don’t try. Sometimes I am patient enough to write in all caps and that turns out nicely.

It’s so bad because my right thumb’s tendon was cut and surgically repaired. The scar tissue makes tasks that require dexterity (writing) very difficult for me to do. Especially for extended periods of times. In college, I often got to type essays/exams that we supposed to be manually done.

Also - I wanted to be a lefty. My second grade teachers aggressively encouraged me to try writing with my other hand for a full year before I gave in. This combination makes typing a far better solution.
